Center helps women join workforce

Upcoming training sessions provided by the Center for the Women of New York will give women the skills necessary to get entry level positions or to eventually advance in their careers.
The Center for the Women of New York assists women who are new to the workforce or who are changing careers. They also help women who want to advance further through continued study and training.
Registration is now open for some of its training programs.
The Family Day Care Training program, which is supervised by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, is “designed to train and certify women to supervise children in their own homes.” Participants are required to attend 20 hours of classes, which take place on five Tuesdays. The fee for the program is $75, with an additional $15 for non-members.
Through the center’s Home Health Aid Training, students will be able to receive a Home Health Aid license and also will get job placement assistance following completion. The cost of the course, which is supervised by the New York State Department of Health, is $50 with an additional $100 cost for materials and equipment.
There will also be a Basic Computer Training program, which costs $50 with an additional $15 registration fee.
