For this year’s job fair, some of the employers who participated were the New York Police Department, the Army, H&R Block, the New York City Department of Corrections, Prudential, Dress for Success, MetLife, Citibank and Verizon.
“I think this will be a great partnership that we’re about to embark on,” said Army Sergeant First Class Jorge Calzudes prior to the beginning of the job fair.

Suzannah Blackberg, MST, a teacher and Career Service Coordinator at Bramson ORT, said that about 50 to 60 students participated in the job fair. She also said that throughout the semester workshops are held so that students can learn work skills they will need to get a job and keep it. Among them are interview techniques, how to dress, interpersonal communication and resume writing, among several others.
“We feel that we provide them with those skills,” Blackberg said.
The college will have two more job fairs within the next couple of months. One will focus on the medical area and another will be devoted to accounting.
