Man killed in Flushing

Flushing’s second homicide of the year was a Maryland man, Maurice Parker, 21, who was arguing with a pair of Hispanic males shortly after midnight on Friday, May 18, when one of the males drew a handgun and shot Parker once in the head.
The pair then fled on motorcycles to parts unknown. The investigation by officers of the 109th Precinct continues.
Parker, who lived at 3909 Princely Way in Pikesville, a suburb of Baltimore, was pronounced dead by Emergency Medical Service personnel who arrived at the scene on Bowne Street, between Sanford and Franklin Avenues.
This is the first street killing in Flushing since the Chinese New Year’s murder of Zhang Hong Qui, the Chinese deliveryman who was stabbed to death and robbed of his cell phone on February 18.
Kendall Walker of 44-35 Colden Street in Flushing was arrested for Hong Qui’s murder 15 days later and remains in jail on Rikers Island awaiting trial, which could result in a life sentence.
