Philharmonic at Cunningham Park

The New York Philharmonic will be hosting a free orchestral concert and food drive in Cunningham Park on Thursday, July 12.
Performances of Hector Berlioz's &#8220Le Corsaire Overture,” Felix Mendelssohn's &#8220Violin Concerto in E Minor” and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6, &#8220Pathtique” will be played. A fireworks display will follow the concert.
The show, which begins at 8 p.m., will also feature conductor Ludovic Morlot and violinist Stefan Jackiw.
Concertgoers are also invited to donate non-perishable food items. Through a partnership with Food Bank for New York City - a primary supplier of food for the underprivileged - representatives and collection bins will be at the park's entrance, as well as at centrally located tables.
The Cunningham Park concert is one of many Free Concerts in the Parks Series that the NY Philharmonic is hosting from July 9 through July 17 throughout New York City, Long Island and New Jersey.
Philharmonic summer park concerts began in 1965, and have been enjoyed by over 14 million people, including 122,300 listeners last summer.
