Sabini hosts breakfast for veterans

Senator John Sabini (center) hosted a breakfast for veterans and their families at the First Baptist Church in East Elmhurst recently. The event, a thank-you for veterans from that neighborhood, along with Jackson Heights, Corona, Elmhurst and Woodside, featured presentations by Senate Minority Leader Malcolm Smith (second from left) and John Rowan, National President of the Vietnam Veterans of America (second from right). Senator Sabini also discussed and distributed literature about special government benefits available to New York veterans, and gave community service awards to veterans Patrick Beckles (left) and Henry Nusslein (right).
