Rain plus speed equals danger

Recent wet weather contributed to numerous car accidents around Queens, like this crash on the eastbound Kew Gardens underpass, on Tuesday, November 13.
The driver of the van escaped serious injury, even though he had to be extracted from the passenger side. Firefighters said he was wearing a seat belt.
Traffic on the Jackie Robinson Parkway and on Union Turnpike above the crash scene was snarled for over an hour.
