Miss Chiquitita Co-Presidents Patricia Mahecha and Victoria Schneps-Yunis, President of Schneps Communications, said that the Second-Annual talent pageant has grown to be broken up into several events.
The contest begins as participants model and display their sportswear at Natives Restaurant.
The second event is a jump-rope tournament held at another venue.
“The idea behind that was to encourage them [contestants] to do exercise,” Mahecha said.
The event also features star guests such as soap-opera and television actors and actresses.
Event sponsors have included Modelamos Talent Agency, Dior Spa & Salon, the Sheraton LaGuardia East, Natives Restaurant, The Queens Courier, El Correo de Queens, and The Daily News.
