A bustling part of the Pelham Bay commercial shopping district was brought to a standstill on Thursday, January 3, just after midday, by a 3-alarm fire in a two-story commercial property.
It is suspected that the fire started between 12:40 p.m. and 1 p.m. at 3009 Westchester Avenue. The Fire Department arrived approximately 10 minutes after the blaze was first noticed by business owners responding to the building
