Knights’ revenge will have to wait

By Dylan Butler

“We'll never forget that game, it's always on the back of my mind,” Landesberg said. “A lot of people think they're better than us so we just wanted to prove everybody wrong.”Instead, payback would have to wait as the undefeated Ravens prevailed again, this time pulling away in the second half en route to a 79-69 league win. Ranked No. 25 in the country, St. Raymond's (13-0, 5-0 CHSAA AA) hurt Holy Cross (9-2, 1-1) with its depth while the Knights were mired in foul trouble.Landesberg had a quiet 25 points and picked up his fourth foul on a charge late in the third quarter. Vastly improved Tim Beinert added 21 points, but just four in the second half. But Holy Cross didn't get its usual offensive contributions from Kayvon Roberts (six points) and Blaise Ffrench (11 points).”I was very disappointed in our execution defensively,” Holy Cross coach Paul Gilvary said. “We just gave them too many good looks and too many uncontested shots.”St. Ray's, though, had a balanced attack led by forwards Kevin Parrom and Delroy Daley, who scored 17 points apiece. Omari Lawrence added 15 points and Darryl Bryant added 11 for the Ravens. With no second league game on the schedule this year, Holy Cross will have to wait until the playoffs to get back at St. Ray's. “It would be good to beat them on their home court,” Beinert said. “But we just didn't come out and do what we needed to do.”
