On March 12 at 10:53 p.m., two Hispanic adults left the fetus, already dead and wrapped in a bag, at Our Lady of Sorrows on 37th Avenue, police said. They do not believe the adults were the parents, the source said. The city medical examiner had not determined the age, sex or cause of death of the fetus by press time Tuesday. The church will provide burial for the fetus, police said. The discovery of the fetus was the second high-profile case involving infants in the 115th Precinct in a matter of weeks. On Feb. 28, a 6-month-old girl was left at a Corona firehouse by a livery cab driver, prompting a manhunt for her parents and the arrests of several people who helped plan the abandonment.Police were still searching for the baby's father, 27-year-old Carlos Rodas, who went into hiding after turning over his daughter to the cab driver.Reach reporter Jeremy Walsh by e-mail at jwalsh@timesledger.com or by phone at 718-229-0300, Ext. 154.
