Led by James Callahan, who had a double, a triple and allowed no earned runs in the final four innings, Officefurniture.net defeated Kramer Stations, 8-4, in a Bayside Little League Major Division game.
Nick Stamoulis belted a triple and Sean Cunningham played well as Officefurniture.net improved to 6-0 on the season.
Bayside Salumeria 7, H&D Maintenance 6. Bayside Salumeria improved to 2-5 on the season with a hard-fought victory against H&D Maintenance April 30. Fine pitching performances by Bayside
Salumeria's Ben Mehovic and H&D's Michael Low kept the game deadlocked at 3 after regulation. H&D scored three runs in the top of the seventh, but Bayside Salumeria fought back tying the score at 6-6. But with the bases loaded, Walter Spangenberg hit a walk-off single to lead Bayside Salumeria to victory.
Pilling Real Estate 10, HS Interior Design 0. Dylan Chateau struck out 13 batters and hit his second home run of the season to lead Pilling Real Estate to a 10-0 victory over HS Interior Design. Frank Fata, Patrick Brown, Anthony Albasini, Keith Baron, Alex Centrone, Max Lomuscio, and Nicholas Powell also led the Pilling Real Estate charge.
Texas Farm Division
In a big rematch between Alpha Produce and Pee Wee Folks Pre School in the Texas Farm Division, offense took center stage this time. Justin Mechetti and Jason Rossi received game balls for Pee Wee Folks for contributing three hits apiece.
Alpha Produce got off to a slow start offensively before scoring big in the third and fourth innings and making some stellar defensive plays in the infield in another tough game between these two teams.
Turano Contracting vs. Doyle B. Schaffer. Turano Contracting took on Doyle B. Schaffer Sunday in a back and forth battle that had to go into extra innings.
In an evenly matched affair, the story for Turano Contracting was base running and defense. In the third inning Miles Cox was caught in a rundown, but he used his speed and quickness to elude the defense and slide back into second just ahead of the tag. This proved to be a big play in the game as it kept the inning alive allowing Turano to tack on more runs.
Turano Contracting's defense was bulletproof all day, but the biggest contributors were Tyler Hartman and Nicholas Sanso. Tyler made two spectacular plays at second base by spearing two rockets in the second
inning, helping to hold the offense scoreless in the inning. Nicholas Sanso got an assist on all three put outs in the fourth inning and earned a big ovation from the crowd for holding the offense scoreless in the inning.
Absolute Plumbing vs. Hartsko Financial Services. In a game highlighted by solid fielding by both teams, Absolute Plumbing defeated Hartsko Financial Services at John Golden Field April 26.
Justin Grill pitched 3 1/3 innings to earn the win and hit a two-run home run. Matthew Gutleber also hit a home run and had four RBIs. Rose Maisano also scored 3 runs.
Hartsko Financial Services was led by Robert Larosa, who struck out seven in three-plus innings. Jack
Fridrikson belted a home run and Ryun Attore, who pitched, hit a triple.
Absolute Plumbing vs FY Lifestyle. FY Lifestyle lost to Absolute Plumbing after the game was called in the middle of the fourth inning because of darkness April 24. Rudy Lopez and Patrick McArdle combined for a web gem to end the third inning.
Daniel Alfonso continues to lead the team in on base percentage and hitting, as he smacked his fourth homerun in four games. Jeffery Lee had his fourth multi-hit game and Tommy Ventura stroked a triple and a single to power the offense. Jake Frie made a solid pitching debut for FY Lifestyle. The team hopes to continue to improve and can't wait to face its next opponent.
Lee Miles vs. Pee Wee Folks Pre School. Pee Wee Folks offense was powered by Dante Camp and Max Narduzzi. Game balls for defense went to the birthday boy, Matthew Picardo, and Elias Machaalani, who had five putouts at third base including an unassisted double play.
Minor League
Mattone Real Estate 10, Ira Schwartz DDS 1. DDS was led by Evan Giron, who pitched four scoreless innings and he was matched by Vasili Hatzinikolaou. Emmanuel Hatzinikolaou provided the big bat with a home run, a double and four RBIs.
Mattone Real Estate vs. Graziano Ravioli. Mattone was led by Nick Rathkamp, who got the game ball for pitching four innings of one-run ball. Anthony D'Orta hit a big two-run single that broke the game open and gave Mattone the win.
