AUBURNDALE Police said a 16-year-old was arrested on robbery charges after allegedly putting on a mask and trying to steal his own mother's purse.
Police said the 16-year-old, whose name was not released, forcibly tried to take the victim's purse shortly after 5:30 p.m. near the corner of 194th Street and Crocheron Avenue. When he failed, police said the teenager attempted to flee the scene, but was caught by witnesses nearby.
When the mask was removed, police said the victim identified her attacker as her own son.
