The recent independent Straphangers Campaign study of Queens bus service was informative. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority and New York City Transit deserve credit for the successful introduction of limited-stop, express-style bus service already in place for the Q4, Q5, Q10, Q17, Q20A, Q20B, Q27, Q43, Q46 and Q85 buses.
They have all been successful in reducing travel time for many riders between home and subway connections. Perhaps significant increases in both Q12 and Q58 ridership referenced in the Straphangers study might also make the Q12 and Q58 routes candidates for limited-stop, express-style service as well.
