A Flushing man was arrested early Friday morning after allegedly using a nearly foot-long knife to stab his roommate to death outside their apartment building , police said.
Yu Ming Liu,of 136-05 Sanford Ave., was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court Friday on second-degree murder and assault charges of wielding a 10 1/2-inch knife to kill a 43-year-old man late Thursday night, according to authorities.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Queens Criminal court, Liu allegedly admitted to stabbing Francis Kuang-Chun Wang, later identified as his roommate, in the chest following a dispute outside their home.
If convicted, Liu faces a possible sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
Police said they responded to a call reporting a stabbing shortly before midnight and discovered Wang unconscious and bleeding on the floor of the first floor hallway of 136-05 Sanford Ave. with a single stab wound to the chest.
EMS officials who arrived at the scene pronounced the Wang dead at the scene, authorities said.
Police said both men lived in the building and Liu was arrested a short time after police arrived at the scene. A 10 1/2-inch knife was recovered from Liu's apartment, according to authorities.
