COLLEGE POINT — A 20-year-old Jackson Heights man was arrested after he crashed his car into a College Point home and fled the scene in early September, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.
Paul Yang, of 33-51 75th St. in Jackson Heights, was arraigned Sept. 7 before Queens Criminal Court Judge Robert Raciti on charges of reckless endangerment, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident, the DA said.
The defendant will return to court Oct. 20, the DA said.
Yang drove his car into a home on 20th Avenue in College Point Sept.7, causing the bricks to cave into the house, Brown said. The foundation of the house was later discovered to be cracked, he said.
An eyewitness spotted Yang fleeing the scene of the accident, Brown said. A woman riding in the passenger seat of the car suffered a laceration to her face and bleeding from her head following the accident, he said.
Upon his arrest, Yang was discovered to be intoxicated, Brown said.
