LONG ISLAND CITY — A city bus driver was attacked by a rider in Long Island City last week in an apparent robbery attempt, police said.
At 7:47 a.m. Dec. 10, police responded to Queens Plaza for a report of a bus driver stabbed. They found the driver of the Q66 bus with a laceration on her hand. She said a Hispanic man in his 30s, who was sitting behind her, grabbed her bag, police said.
As the two struggled, the suspect demanded the driver’s ring before fleeing the bus.
Police were still searching for the suspect. The driver was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center in stable condition.
