Bus kills Ridgewood teacher

A Ridgewood woman, who published reports said was a day care teacher, was run over and killed by a bus Friday night just eight blocks from her home, police said.

Hui Wu, 26, who neighbors said lived with her parents in an apartment on Bleecker Street, was crossing Myrtle Avenue at Wyckoff Avenue at 10:12 p.m. when she slipped and fell under the rear wheel of a city bus traveling east on Myrtle, police said. Neighbors reported hearing an argument coming from Wu’s apartment earlier that evening.

Wu, who the New York Post said taught autistic children, was taken to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The bus driver remained at the scene and no criminality was suspected, police said. Wu was a graduate of LaGuardia Community College, the Post said. Neighbors said she immigrated from China in 2002.
