Lifewatch USA, a family-owned company with 28 years of experience in the security industry, will now have trained Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) answering calls made from the Lifewatch pendant.
The announcement is the latest in a series of advancements to the company’s Personal Emergency Response System (PERS), including GPS, computerized medical records and the Medi-Lok device, which allows ambulance crews to enter the home without breaking down a door.
“Today, more than ever, it’s important to offer cutting-edge technology in this industry,” said Evan Sirlin, owner of Lifewatch USA.
The EMTs answering Lifewatch USA calls are highly-trained professionals who will stay on the phone to offer medical assistance until help arrives. With access to a caller’s computerized medical records, they can provide medical support to seniors and important information to first responders, dispatched to the scene. These trained EMTs can even provide first responders with the right combination to a Medi-Lok lock box so they enter a residence, without breaking down the door.
Sirlin, voted one of New York’s top businessmen under 40 years old, noted that Lifewatch USA was also the first PERS company to install a microphone and speaker in the pendant so the caller doesn’t have to speak into a call box. The company is also the first to put a GPS in the pendant to help locate seniors prone to wandering.
Although Lifewatch USA is ahead of other companies in the technology it provides, the company now offers plans for as low as $12.95 per month. “Cutting prices during tough times can work for a family business,” explained Sirlin. “People will remember us when the economy improves.”
