Motorists be advised: MTA Bridges and Tunnels has announced the planned closures of ramps and lanes on both the Marine Parkway and Cross Bay Bridges.
In order to accommodate necessary construction and maintenance at the Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge, on Tuesday, October 6 from 12:01 to 5 a.m. there will be a full bridge closure for nighttime paving work. Motorists should use the Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge as an alternate route during this nighttime closure.
In addition, through Monday, October 12, the Breezy Point exit from the bridge (Brooklyn-to-Queens direction) will be closed around-the-clock to allow for repair and re-paving. Detour signs will direct motorists to the alternate route at Beach 149th Street.
On Thursday, October 1 and Friday, October 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, the ramp from Beach Channel Drive West onto the Cross Bay Bridge northbound will be closed in order to accommodate construction on the roadway. Detour signs will be posted to direct motorists.
Motorists are advised to expect delays or use alternate routes during these periods.
