Forest Park rape suspect in custody

According to a police source, the suspect wanted in connection with a sexual attack in Forest Park has been apprehended by the NYPD’s Special Victims Unit.
Recently, there had been two reported rapes in the park, and it is unknown at this time to which – or both – of the sexual assaults the suspect is connected.
Women in Woodhaven and the areas surrounding Forest Park were being extra cautious over the last few months.
“Woodhaven is not a safe neighborhood,” said a female resident of the area who declined to give her name. “The neighborhood used to be beautiful. It seems quiet, but that’s when stuff happens.”
“I try not to be alone,” continued the woman, who works nights. “I use the ‘buddy system’ and try to park as close to my house as possible. If not, I have friends or family watch me get to my car.”
