Man secretly tapes woman on toilet: DA

WOODSIDE — A 33-year-old Jackson Heights man was arrested after he allegedly attempted to record his common-law wife in a bathroom in Woodside, the Queens district attorney said.

The defendant, who lives on 103rd street in Jackson Heights, was arraigned March 28 before Queens Criminal Court Judge Stephanie Zaro on charges of unlawful surveillance and criminal possession of stolen property, Queens DA Richard Brown said.

The man, who was released on his own recognizance, will return to court April 20, the DA said.

On Jan. 15, the defendant is alleged to have placed a cell phone in a plastic bag that was facing the toilet in the restroom of a Woodside apartment owned by his common-law wife, the DA said.

The video on the cell showed the woman partially undressed and sitting on the toilet seat, Brown said.
