ASTORIA — Police made an arrest late Tuesday night in connection with an assault on a senior citizen two weeks ago.
Jesus Fernandez, 23, of 8th Street in Astoria, was charged by police with robbery, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and grand larceny, according to police.
The incident took place around 11 p.m. April 5 on the fifth floor of an apartment building in Astoria, according to police.
Fernandez assaulted the 81-year-old tenant and fled in the senior citizen’s gray Hyundai Elantra in an unknown direction, investigators said. The victim was taken to an area hospital in serious condition with head trauma, police said.
