JAMAICA — A Long Island man was busted at John F. Kennedy International Airport for allegedly having fake IDs on his person, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.
Jose Caballero, 41, of 160 N. Gardiner Drive in Bayshore, L.I., presented his luggage for routine pre-flight screening at JFK’s Terminal 4 between 3 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. June 15 when a U.S. Transportation Security Administration officer allegedly recovered nine forged documents, including a California ID card, four U.S. permanent resident cards and three Social Security cards, according to the criminal complaint.
The complaint said Caballero told a Port Authority officer he knew the IDs were fake because he paid $50 for them.
Caballero was arraigned June 15 before Queens Criminal Court Justice Ira Margulis, who released him on his own recognizance, a DA spokeswoman said.
His next court date was scheduled for June 15.
