FLUSHING – The Queens Library at McGoldrick celebrated its re-opening to the public following a $1.2 million renovation of the entire library on Friday, September 24. It was made possible through the support of New York State Senator Frank Padavan; New York State Assemblymember Grace Meng and the entire Queens delegations to the New York State Assembly and the City Council and City Councilmember Peter Koo, all of whom allocated the funds for the renovation. The library received technological upgrades including RFID self check-in and self check-out machines. These new customer service upgrades will help reduce wait times for customers, as well free up library staff to assist more customers. They will also allow customers to return items anytime, day or night. There is also new roofing, ceilings, flooring, windows, furniture and shelving, and the existing meeting room received a more modern and user-friendly makeover.
