After 40 years of serving the community, Christie & Co. Salon ? Spa in The Bay Terrace shopping center will celebrate their anniversary by celebrating fabulous and successful women.
Christie & Co. Salon ? Spa is asking for inspirational, motivational and courageous stories about special women in the community to be submitted through their web site. The stories will be reviewed and voted on by a guest panel to decide the winners of the Forty Fabulous Years contest.
The winners will enjoy complete make-overs, including a hair styling and coloring with Lois Christie, a professional photo-shoot and the chance to have their stories printed in The Queens Courier and Launchpad Magazine. Winners will also receive a $500 gift card for Saks Fifth Avenue.
“It could be a teacher, a friend, a mentor or your own story,” said Lois Christie, owner of Christie & Company Salon in Bayside. “This is our way of giving a shout-out to women everywhere.”
The contest is designed to acknowledge, empower and encourage women to follow their calling. For Christie, she bought her first salon when she was 20 years old. Since 1970, Christie & Co. has been a staple of the Bayside business community.
“We like to be considered a leader in the beauty industry. We are a full service salon, but we like to think our staff does a lot more than that. For years, hair dressers have been relied on as confidants and a good source of information regarding fashion and the community,” said Christie.
