The Clinton Democratic Club held a meeting on November 17 at the law firm of Vallone & Vallone that focused on the spirit of Thanksgiving and appreciation for the local volunteer ambulance corps.
Each president of the Whitestone, Bayside, Little Neck, and Flushing Volunteer Ambulance Corps discussed the impact and importance they have in their respective communities. They stressed the need for continued volunteers and donations in order for them to continue to serve our community.
In addition, New York City Public Advocate Bill de Blasio spoke to the members about his role in the city and the community. He addressed topics important to him including term limits, education reform – especially in light of Bloomberg’s controversial pick for New York City Schools Chancellor, safeguarding land use and accountability on all levels of city government.
Meanwhile, State Senator-elect Tony Avella and Assemblymember-elect Ed Braunstein also thanked those in attendance for their support in helping them get elected on November 2.
