Upstater hit same man on 2 different days: DA

FLUSHING — A 21-year-old Norwich, N.Y., resident was arraigned on charges of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment Feb. 2 for allegedly attacking another man in Flushing on two separate occasions and locations, the Queens district attorney’s office said.

Yihong Xu, of Ann Avenue, allegedly punched a man about the head and face Dec. 7 at 3:30 a.m. inside a building on Main Street near Kissena Boulevard, bruising his victim, the DA said. A few days later on Dec. 13 at about 6:45 p.m. in front of a location on 39th Avenue near College Point Boulevard, Xu allegedly broke a beer bottle over the same man’s head, shoulder and lower left side of his back, causing multiple lacerations, the DA said.

As a result of the attack, the man received one staple and three stitches in his shoulder, 11 staples in his head and three stitches in his lower back, the DA said.

Xu’s next court date is Feb. 16.
