Home aide accused of stealing $800,000 from widow

An elderly Queens woman allegedly had almost $800,000 stolen from her by her from her aide, according to The Daily News.

The aide reportedly cashed $800 checks designated for food and laundry.

This money was use for shopping sprees – after the aide’s arrest $4,000 in bills for jewelry and clothing from Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus, The Daily News reported.

The report also says that the aide moved several relatives into the 85-year-old Renee Fuld’s apartment.

The aide, Jackie Pokuwaah an immigrant from Ghana, is being held at Riker’s Island and told The Daily News that she never stole from Fuld, calling her family. (Click here for the full story)
