CORONA — A man died when he fell onto the No. 7 line subway tracks near Corona Plaza during rush hour Tuesday morning, shutting down the subway for 15 to 20 minutes and causing officers from the 110th Precinct to cordon off the streets below to prevent rubbernecking.
Electricity was shut off to the subway after 9:30 a.m., the Breaking News Network reported. Straphangers found the trains had stopped in both directions.
The 90th Street-Elmhurst Avenue stop was cordoned off after the incident. Many pedestrians stood beneath the elevated train taking pictures of the accident scene before the police closed off the street.
Police had not released any information on the incident as of press time Tuesday evening.
