Walking tour of western Queens Explore how early 20th century building/open-space relationships were altered to create a new urban architecture in western Queens.
Beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13 urban geographer Jack Eichenbaum will guide tourists through Sunnyside Gardens and the Jackson Heights historic districts.
The Municipal Art Society -hosted route will also include Phipps Garden Apartments, Matthew Model Flats, Metropolitan Life apartments and early truck-oriented industrial buildings.
The tour will last approximately two hours. Tickets are $10 for members of The Municipal Art Society and $15 for non-members.
Gas prices again approach $4
After weeks of trending downward, gas prices are again threatening to pass four dollars.
Prices at the pump come in at $3.996, two and a half cents higher than a week ago, according to AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge.
Gas is still nine cents cheaper than it was a month ago, but a dollar more than customers were paying last July.
Nationwide gas has risen eight cents in the past week.

Become a Nassau County Museum of Art docent Passionate art enthusiasts can now share their fervor as a docent at the Nassau County Museum of Art.
Docents conduct guided tours and offer talks on past exhibitions at various community-based sites. No experience is necessary.
Training for new docents begins on September 26 and lasts through March 12.
