The summer is almost over – and that means Queens students are already gearing up for the upcoming school year. U.S. Congressmember Joe Crowley helped their cause by giving out school supplies last week.
“No child should report to school without all the tools they need to be successful in the classroom,” Crowley said in a statement from his office.
The congressmember and the Maspeth Town Hall hosted a back-to-school drive at a summer day camp held at P.S. 153 in Maspeth. Crowley spent last Friday touring the camp, spoke to children and handed out back-to-school supplies such as notebooks, pens, pencils and paper. The children that attend the camp are students at P.S. 12 in Woodside. – Vishal Persaud
