Firefighters rushed to an auto body shop in Greenpoint after a one-alarm fire ripped through the establishment on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 15, it was reported. According to FDNY sources, the blaze ignited at around 4:15 p.m. at the garage located on Driggs Avenue near Leonard Street. Responding to the scene (in the order of their arrival) were members of Engine comapnies 229, 238, 221 and 216; Ladder companies 146, 106 and 104; Squad Co. 252; Rescue 2 and Battalions 35 and 45-under the direction of Division 11-along with the 94th Precinct and EMS units. No injuries were reported. One hose line was reportedly used by firefighters to bring the blaze under control, Fire Department sources said.
