Queens Library Offers It Course

The Queens Library is offering library customers an opportunity to attend the Cisco Academy and become eligible for certification to work as an IT Technician, IT Administrator, or Field Service Technician by attending a free course at the library’s Long Island City branch.

The course, being given in collaboration with Queens College, consists of 20 three-hour training sessions.

To be eligible, customers must be at least 18 years of age; have a high school or high school equivalency diploma and limited income. Upon completion, attendees will receive a certificate issued by Cisco and will be prepared to take the CompTIA A+ Certification exam. They will also receive resume-writing assistance and job preparation guidance.

“Queens Library is excited to offer this comprehensive job-readiness program, from hands-on training to interview prep, all free, all at the library. We are giving customers realworld marketable skills that will translate into real jobs,” said Thomas W. Galante, president and CEO of the Queens Library.
