She’s Struck by Suv on the Border

A woman was seriously injured after being hit by a sports utility vehicle while attempting to cross Metropolitan Avenue on the Ridgewood/Middle Village border last Thursday morning, Dec. 29, 2011, Fire Department sources said. Reportedly, the accident occurred at around 8:30 a.m. at the corner of Metropolitan Avenue and Fresh Pond Road. Members of Engine Co. 291, the 104th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious head trauma, FDNY sources stated.
