Two people were injured after a one-alarm fire scorched a home in Ridgewood on Sunday morning, Jan. 29, according to Fire Department sources. Reportedly, the blaze broke out at around 10:20 a.m. on the second floor of the dwelling located on Decatur Street near Wyckoff Avenue. Responding to the scene (in the order of their arrival) were members of Engine companies 277, 271 and 286; Squad companies 277 and 288; Ladder companies 112, 176 and 135; Rescue 4 and Battalions 28 and 37-under the direction of Division 14-along with the 104th Precinct and EMS units. The victims were brought to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center for treatment of smoke inhalation; their injuries were not considered to be life-threatening. Firefighters reportedly used two hose lines to bring the blaze under control.
