Train Kills Man At E. Wmbg. Station

Walking on the subway tracks proved to be a deadly decision for an unidentified man who was struck and killed by a train arriving at a station on the L line in East Williamsburg last Friday night, Mar. 9, MTA officials reported.

Firefighters and EMS units were on the scene after a man was struck and killed by a train at the Morgan Avenue L train station last Friday, Mar. 9.

The victim’s identity was not disclosed by police.

According to the MTA, the incident occurred at 9:50 p.m. along the Canarsie-bound tracks of the L line at the Morgan Avenue station, located in the vicinity of Morgan Avenue and Harrison Place.

Reportedly, the man was spotted walking on the tracks when he was hit by a Canarsie-bound train as it entered the station.

Members of the 90th Precinct responded to the scene along with the NYPD Transit Bureau, Emergency Services Unit 8, Engine Co. 237, Ladder Co. 108, Squad Co. 252, Rescue 2 and EMS units.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation is ongoing, police said.
