African American Heritage celebration held in Jamaica

African American Heritage Month Planning Committee Co-Chair Andrew Jackson and Queens Borough President Helen Marshall were on hand to present scholarships to students during the AAHM’s annual reception at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center last Thursday. Six community leaders were also given achievement awards during the event.
