Two people were injured after a car lost control and slammed into a drug store in Corona last Wednesday night, Feb. 22, it was reported. Fire Department sources said the crash occurred at around 5:40 p.m. at the corner of 97th Place and 57th Avenue. Among the units that responded to the scene (in the order of their arrival) were members of Engine companies 324, 289 and 287; Ladder companies 138 and 136; Squad Co. 288; Rescue 4; Battalion 46; the 110th Precinct and EMS units. The victims were brought by paramedics to a local hospital for treatment of injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
