KENNEDY AIRPORT — A Florida man was charged with criminal possession of a weapon after trying to board a JetBlue flight with a 9 mm Glock handgun, according to the criminal complaint from the Queens district attorney’s office.
On Feb. 23, Hector Perez, of Coral Springs, was attempting to navigate security checkpoints just after 6 p.m. when he presented his suitcase for inspection, according to DA documents.
A Port Authority baggage screener noticed a black, semi-automatic pistol in Perez’s locked suitcase, and when the Floridian could not produce a valid permit, he was arrested, according to the DA.
