Man arrested in Woodhaven hit-and-run

WOODHAVEN — Police arrested and charged a 59-year-old Queens Village resident in connection with a hit-and-run accident that left a man in critical condition Monday night, according to the NYPD.

Ian Glasgow of 204th Street, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, police said.

According to an NYPD spokesman, a 50-year-old man had been trying to cross Woodhaven Boulevard at the intersection with Jamaica Avenue at about 7 p.m. Monday when he was struck by a 2003 Infiniti sedan, which had been driving southbound. Police said that the driver fled the scene of the crash.

Officers responding to a 911 call about the accident apprehended Glasgow at Woodhaven Boulevard and 91st Avenue, several blocks away, according to the NYPD.

The pedestrian was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
