Flames shot through the roof of a Woodside home after a fire broke out early on Sunday morning, July 8, Fire Department sources said. The one-alarm blaze reportedly broke out at around 1 a.m. on the second-floor of a dwelling located on 61st Street near 50th Avenue. Among the units that responded to the scene (listed in numerical order) were Engine companies 259, 287, 292 and 325; Squad companies 270 and 288; Ladder companies 128, 136, 140, 154 and 163; Rescue 4 and Battalions 45 and 49-under the direction of Division 14-along with the 108th Precinct and EMS units. There were no reported injuries. Firefighters used three hose lines to bring the fire under control, FDNY sources stated.
