QUEENS VILLAGE — Police announced Tuesday they had arrested Queens Village resident Jeffrey Contreras and charged him with the attempted murder of a police officer, according to a statement released by the NYPD.
Authorities said police were attempting to arrest Contreras, 23, of Hollis Court Boulevard and 94th Avenue, Friday at about 1:35 a.m. when he got into a 2011 Toyota RAV 4 and allegedly hit three officers before driving away, the NYPD said.
The three officers were brought in stable condition to North Shore University Hospital and two were released as of Saturday, police said.
Contreras was charged with three counts each of attempted murder, assault on a police officer, aggravated vehicular assault, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon and resisting arrest, police said.
