Station Project Shuts Weekend M Shuttle

Weekend M train shuttle service between Metropolitan Avenue-Middle Village and Myrtle Avenue-Broadway is scheduled to be suspended this weekend, from 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 until 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, due to construction work related to the MTA station renewal project. Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service and make all stops.

Riders can transfer between the shuttle bus and the L train at Myrtle- Wyckoff Avenues and the J train at Myrtle Avenue-Broadway.

The shuttle buses will stop at the M train stations as follows:

– Metropolitan Avenue-at the Q54 bus stop on Metropolitan Avenue at Rentar Plaza;

– Fresh Pond Road-at the B20 bus stop on Putnam Avenue at Fresh Pond Road (to Myrtle Avenue-Broadway) or the Q58 bus stop on Fresh Pond Road at Putnam Avenue (to Metropolitan Avenue);

– Forest Avenue-at the B20 bus stop on Putnam Avenue at Fairview Avenue (to Myrtle Avenue-Broadway) or the Q58 bus stop on Fairview Avenue at Putnam Avenue (to Metropolitan Avenue);

– Seneca Avenue-at B38 bus stops on Seneca Avenue at Palmetto Street;

– Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues-at the B13 bus stop on Gates Avenue at Wyckoff Avenue (to Myrtle Avenue- Broadway) or the Q58 bus stop on Palmetto Street and Myrtle Avenue (to Metropolitan Avenue);

– Knickerbocker Avenue (closed at all times through 2013)-at B54 bus stops on Myrtle Avenue at Knickerbocker Avenue;

– Central Avenue-on Myrtle Avenue at Cedar Street (to Myrtle Avenue Broadway) or the B54 bus stop on Myrtle Avenue at DeKalb Avenue (to Metropolitan Avenue); and

– Myrtle Avenue-Broadway-at the B46 bus stop on Broadway at Myrtle Avenue.

Weekend J Trains Closed This Weekend

J train service is scheduled to be suspended between Crescent Street and Jamaica Center this weekend from 4 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, until 10 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9. During this period, J trains will continue to operate between Crescent Street and Chambers Street in Manhattan.

Shuttle buses will provide alternate service to the J train between Crescent Street and 121st Street and will connect to the Jamaica-Van Wyck station for E train service to Jamaica Center.

The shuttle buses will stop at J train stations as follows:

– Crescent Street-on Fulton Street at Crescent Street;

– Cypress Hills-at the B13 bus stop on Jamaica Avenue at Hemlock Street (to Jamaica-Van Wyck) or on Crescent Street at Jamaica Avenue (to Crescent Street station);

– 75th Street-Elderts Lane-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 75th Street (to Jamaica-Van Wyck) or Dexter Court (to Crescent Street);

– 85th Street-Forest Parkway-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 85th Street (to Jamaica-Van Wyck) or at 86th Street (to Crescent Street);

– Woodhaven Boulevard-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at Woodhaven Boulevard;

– 104th Street-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 104th Street;

– 111th Street-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 111th Street;

– 121st Street-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 121st Street; and

– Jamaica-Van Wyck-on the Van Wyck Expressway service road at 89th Avenue.

Late Night L Trains Won’t Run In Bklyn.

L train service will be suspended between Broadway Junction and Lorimer Street late nights on Tuesdays through Fridays from 12:01 until 5 a.m. through Friday, Sept. 14.

During this time period, L trains will operate in two sections: between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway and between Lorimer Street and Eighth Avenue.

Free shuttle buses will provide alternate L train service at all stops between and including Broadway Junction and Lorimer Street. Riders can transfer between the shuttle buses and the A, J or L trains at Broadway Junction or the G or L trains at Lorimer Street.

The shuttle buses will stop at the L train stations as follows:

– Broadway Junction-on Fulton Street at Van Sinderen Avenue;

– Bushwick Avenue-Aberdeen Street-on Bushwick Avenue at Aberdeen Street (to Lorimer Street) or at DeSales Place (to Broadway Junction);

– Wilson Avenue-on Decatur Street at Wilson Avenue (to Lorimer Street) or on Cooper Street at Wilson Avenue (to Broadway Junction);

– Halsey Street-on Wyckoff Avenue at Weirfield Street;

– Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues-on Wyckoff Avenue at Myrtle Avenue;

– DeKalb Avenue-on Wyckoff Avenue at DeKalb Avenue;

– Jefferson Street-on Wyckoff Avenue at Starr Street;

– Morgan Avenue-on Harrison Place at Morgan Avenue (to Lorimer Street) or on Morgan Avenue at Harrison Place (to Broadway Junction);

– Montrose Avenue-on Bushwick Avenue at Montrose Avenue;

– Grand Street-on Bushwick Avenue at Grand Street;

– Graham Avenue-on Metropolitan Avenue at Graham Avenue; and

– Lorimer Street-on Metropolitan Avenue at Union Avenue.

Subway Changes

The MTA has scheduled a number of service changes for several subway lines throughout the city due to construction work.

These service advisories are current as of Wednesday, Sept. 5. Last minute changes to service and operating schedules may be made due to weather-related conditions or emergency repairs. Check www.mta.info for schedule changes.

Rail lines which run through the area that will be affected include the following:

Daytime 7 Trains Run Express To Manhattan

Manhattan-bound 7 trains will skip the 111th Street, 103rd Street, 90th Street, 82nd Street, 74th Street, 69th Street, 52nd Street, 46th Street, 40th Street and 33rd Street stations on Monday, Sept. 10, through Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

For service to these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard, Woodside-61st Street or Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to a Flushingbound 7 train. For service from these stations, take the 7 train to Woodside- 61st Street, Junction Boulevard or Mets-Willets Point, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound 7 train.

Knick. Ave M Stop Closed For Repairs

The Knickerbocker Avenue station on the M line is closed at all times until early 2013 as the MTA conducts repairs.

Riders are advised to use the nearby Central Avenue and Myrtle- Wyckoff Avenues stations as alternates. The B54 bus provides connecting service between Knickerbocker Avenue and the two stations.

During overnight hours, shuttle buses will provide additional service along the B54 route between Myrtle- Wyckoff Avenues and Myrtle Avenue- Broadway, stopping at the Knickerbocker Avenue and Central Avenue stations.

Early Local Svc. On Jam.-Bound E Trains

Jamaica Center-bound E trains will run local service between Queens Plaza and 71st-Continental Avenues on Thursday, Sept. 6, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time.

Local Svc. Changes On F Line In Qns.

Jamaica-bound F trains will run local service between 21st Street- Queensbridge and 71st-Continental Avenues late nights on Friday, Sept. 7, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.

During all local service changes, riders are advised to allow for additional travel time.

Stations Skipped On E, F Late Nights

Jamaica Center-bound E trains and Jamaica-bound F trains will skip the 75th Avenue and Van Wyck Boulevard stations late night on Friday, Sept. 7, from 12:01 until 5 a.m. During this period, Jamaica-bound F trains will also skip the Sutphin Boulevard stop.

For service to these stations, take the E train to Union Turnpike or Jamaica Van Wyck or the F train to Union Turnpike or Parsons Boulevard, then transfer to a Manhattanbound E or F train. For service from these stations, take the E or F train to Union Turnpike or 71st-Continental Avenues, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound E train or a Jamaicabound F train.

Entrance Closed At Van Wyck Station

Due to ongoing construction related to the Kew Gardens interchange project, the entrance to the Van Wyck Boulevard E and F train station on the south side of Queens Boulevard at the Van Wyck Expressway northbound service road has been permanently closed.

A new auxiliary station entrance has opened at the corner of Queens Boulevard and the Van Wyck Expressway southbound service road. Riders are advised to follow directional arrows at street level to the new station entrance.

The entrance to the Van Wyck Boulevard station on the northern side of Queens Boulevard, which was closed in 2010, is expected to reopen in the summer of 2013.
