According to 110th Precinct commanding officer Deputy Inspector Ronald Leyson, Sgt. Dawn Adames and P.O. Stanley Przedwiecki responded to a call of a stolen iPhone in the early morning hours on Nov. 16, 2012. After learning the nature of the stolen property and learning that the Find my iPhone app was installed on the phone, they reportedly used the app to locate the phone inside a store near 82nd Street and Roosevelt Avenue, where they found someone matching the suspect’s description. The stolen iPhone, along with another pilfered cell phone, were allegedly found in the suspect’s pockets. For their work, the two officers were honored with Cop of the Month awards sponsored by the Times Newsweekly at the Monday, Jan. 21 meeting of the 110th Precinct Community Council at the Flanders Field VFW in Corona. Standing from left to right in the photo are Deputy Inspector Leyson, P.O. Przedwiecki, Sgt. Adames, and 110th Precinct Council President Evelyn DeCoursey.
