The new board of the Friends of the Ridgewood Library was officially installed for a year of duty by City Council Member Elizabeth Crowley at their meeting last Monday night, Feb. 4, at the Madison Street institution. As noted, the organization works with the Queens Borough Public Library to promote services, advocate for increased funding and raise funds. Among the officers which Crowley swore in were Friends President Tom Dowd, Vice President Ernie Searle, Secretary Joanne Serenson and Treasurer Rosemary Gimmler.
