Discovered By Dog On Sunday Walk
Detectives are continuing to investigate the death of a Middle Village resident whose body was discovered by a man walking his dog through Forest Park on Sunday morning, Mar. 3, according to police.
Law enforcement sources said Paul Bivainis, 42, of 75th Street was found dead in the vicinity of Freedom Drive and Park Lane South at around 11:40 a.m. Sunday.
Officers from the 102nd Precinct responded to the location after receiving a 911 call of a reported fire. According to information obtained by police, the dog came across Bivainis’ body while on a walk with his owner.
EMS units responded to the scene and pronounced Bivainis dead. His body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for identification and an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
According to sources familiar with the investigation, there are no apparent signs of foul play.
The probe is being conducted by the 102nd Precinct Detective Squad, police said.
