Ongoing Food Drive to Benefit Glendale Pantry

Vol. Patrol Helps Pick Up Donations

Assemblyman Mike Miller and the 104th Precinct Civilian Observation Patrol (104COP) are teaming up to collect food for the pantry run by Sacred Heart Church in Glendale, it was announced.

The public is asked to donate nonperishable food items such as canned vegetables and meats, pasta and rice to two collection sites: Miller’s office, located at 83-91 Woodhaven Blvd. in Woodhaven; and Sacred Heart Rectory, located at 83-17 78th Ave. in Glendale, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

Anyone who has items to donate but is unable to make the trip can arrange for a pickup by a 104COP member. To request a pickup, contact 104COP President Frank Kotnik by calling 1-718-497-1500 or sending an email to GCOP19@aol.com.

The food drive began yesterday, Wednesday, Apr. 25, and continues through Thursday, May 9. All items will be provided to the Sacred Heart Pantry, which distributes groceries to over 100 needy families in the parish and surrounding communities.
