They Followed His Footsteps on Good Friday

Christianity’s most solemn day was marked by parishes around Ridgewood and Bushwick with prayerful processions on Good Friday, Mar. 29. Hundreds of individuals participated in the marches marking the day on which Jesus Christ was crucified. Actors portraying Christ and Roman centurions led the way at two processions: the march in Ridgewood last Friday night to and from Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church (top photo) and the march in the vicinity of St. Brigid Church on the Ridgewood/Bushwick border in Brooklyn (at left). The bottom photo depicts the faithful of St. Martin of Tours Church in Bushwick, many of whom took up their own crosses in walking the streets around their house of worship.
