Former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner, the Forest Hills congressman who resigned after revelations he sent lewd self-portraits and racy text messages to women following him on social media platforms, is mulling a political comeback, according to a lengthy interview he gave to The Sunday New York Times.
Weiner and his wife, Huma Abedin, discussed their post-scandal life following his June 2011 resignation and Weiner’s role as a full-time father.
He funded a poll recently to test voters’ opinions of him and to gauge a run, but he has not said he would jump into any particular race.
“I do recognize, to some degree, it’s now or maybe never for me, in terms of running for something,” he told The Times.
