Update Wednesday, May 15: Police have released a video of three suspects seen prior to the fatal stabbing of a 21-year-old man in South Richmond Hill early Sunday. A prior person of interest in the case is one of the three suspects, said authorities.
Tuesday, May 14:
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in regards to the whereabouts and identity of a person of interest in the stabbing death of a man in South Richmond Hill Sunday.
Around 3:50 a.m.officers were approached by a man holding his stomach near the intersection of Liberty Avenue and 123rd Street, claiming he had been stabbed, said police.
The victim, later identified as 21-year-old Stephen James of Queens, was taken to Jamaica Hospital. Police were informed around 7:45 a.m. Monday that James had died from his injuries.
The NYPD has released a video of the person of interest.
